Well, summer, it's been real. I've enjoyed your sun, duty-free days, and cool and silent nights. I had a great birthday and spent time with my lovely family. Soon school will start and I'll get back into my routine but I'm trying to squeeze in a few more warm weather activities while I still can.

I'm a summer baby. I was born in the hot August. I thrive in the sun. My hair gets blonder, my skin darker. I could spend all day at the beach- swimming, reading, purely enjoying the breeze. I love the summer atmosphere- the smell, the excitement of the city, long car rides, visiting little towns, all of it. Naturally my happiness is swelling. Classes are over, finals are over, my family and I hopped into our Prius and arrived in Maine a few hours ago. We're only staying for a little weekend but this is a perfect way to ease into the season.

welcome to... autumn

The first day of autumn always bring a string of important occurrences. We've finally gotten into the swing of school, gotten our favorite fleeces out, and found our signature fall scent. Now's the time to start knitting scarves, for brown boots, for candy apples, and for grandma's best pumpkin pie recipe. Raking the leaves doesn't seem half as bad when they're so beautiful.
